We definitely heard the “clunk” sound of our jaws dropping to the floor when this wedding arrived in our inboxes. The light coming in through the trees, the bride’s floral head garland, the fact that they are both gorgeous… And of course the wedding just kills it with the fashion and details…
Caroline & Ryan were married outside in a Japanese garden at the Hammond Museum in New York state.
Caroline’s ethereal dress was by Acne Studio – isn’t it amazing?!
We find it so awesome that Caroline chose to wear a gold Casio watch on her wedding day!
For their ceremony and most of their wedding day, Caroline & Ryan chose songs by their favorite Icelandic band, Sigur Ros. In fact, it was music by Sigur Ros that originally brought them together – and the band’s home country, Iceland, was where Ryan proposed.
Since their wedding took place in a Japanese garden, Caroline incorporated origami cranes in her wedding design. Apropos, origami cranes actually have a very signficant meaning in Asian culture: it brings good luck!
One of Caroline’s favorite moments of the day was the traditional Korean “Pae Baek” ceremony, after which the couple did the traditional “piggy back ride” where the groom carries the bride on his back around a table.
Some of you may not know this, but Mary is a huge Star Wars buff. When she saw Caroline & Ryan’s cupcake topper in the likeness of the At-At Walkers from Empire Strikes Back, she nearly fell out of her chair!!
We love it when brides give sage advice to current brides in the midst of planning their weddings – Caroline’s is all too true: “Just have a great time, enjoy the moment, because it goes by too quickly!”
We are so grateful to their awesome wedding photographer, Punam Bean, for sending us this incredible wedding. And of course, big congratulations to Caroline & Ryan and all the creative professionals who made it happen!

As Mother of the groom, I can honestly tell you Ryan and Caroline’s wedding was absolutely beautiful! They made sure everyone that was invited felt their mutual love and the love they shared for all of their friends and family that attended. It was a totally perfect “party”!
